Product information and a bit about us:

These beautiful handmade chef boards are made using the 'Lichtenberg Figure' technique. We (safely) pass over 2000 volts of electricity through the boards which creates dynamic patterns akin to a lightning strike. 

After the board has been electrocuted we inset the resulting pattern with resin in your choice of colour which you can select to compliment your decor or make a bold statement!

Due to the unique way in which this pattern is created every single piece is completely unique and cannot be replicated.

We offer three sizes of live edge board. Simply choose the size you would like from the drop-down menu and let us know the resin colour you would like in the personalisation box. You can also let us know here if you would like glitter added to your selected colour.

We operate a small, family run, workshop in the countryside. We love what we do and with years of carpentry experience we feel like we are pretty good at it! All of our wooden pieces are handmade by us in our workshop to order.

We believe wood should not go to waste and that is why the majority of wood we use comes from our friends over at local sawmills who source trees which were felled during projects such as HS2 and which, without their intervention, would have been burned without being given a second chance to be something amazing. Instead, the wood is saved, sawn, dried (seasoned), and then we take it to our workshop and make it into something beautiful!

Our boards are made to order which allows us to personalise them to your specifications.

If you would like something more or less live edge then please let us know at the point of order.

If you would like glitter in addition to your chosen resin colour then please let us know at the point of order. We can add micro glitter and large piece holo glitter. Please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

We are also able to laser personalisation onto the board, such as names and dates. If this is something you are looking for then please drop us a message prior to ordering so we can ensure this can be achieved on your board.

What you should know:

Every piece of wood is completely unique and therefore you should expect slight imperfections and knots which add character and individuality to every piece. Any imperfections which require it will have resin added to stabilise the board to ensure it lasts.

It is recommended that the boards are kept away from direct heat sources and that you take care not to place excessively hot items onto the board in order to prevent damage from occurring.

As a natural wood product these boards can be hand washed only and should not be exposed to wet or humid environments for excessive periods of time to prevent damage.

It is recommended that the board is treated with chopping board oil or mineral oil at least once every 12 months to ensure it stays looking its best for as long as possible.

If you don’t let us know what colour of resin you would like we will send you a random colour, so please don’t be disappointed and make sure you let us know.

Please bare in mind that some colours when poured into the burns left by the litchtenberg effect can darken, some do not but it is always possible.

While the wood and the resin are incredibly strong, you may notice marking on the board after cutting on it, this is completely normal for a wooden chopping board and will not harm the function of the board.
