Product information and a bit about us:

These gorgeous solid oak mantels are handmade to order and introduce a slice of rustic style to transform your home. Each piece of oak is completely unique and finished to showcase the beautiful grain which only comes with high quality solid oak.

These oak beams are custom made to order which allows to distress them additionally if required for a more ‘lived with’ look. If you are looking for a lighter or heavier distressed look then please add a note to the personalisation box when placing your order.

Our oak mantels are one of our more rustic pieces but are still finished to the highest quality and sanded until smooth while preserving the natural aesthetic that is expected from rustic pieces.

We operate a small, family run, workshop in the countryside. We love what we do and with years of carpentry experience we feel like we are pretty good at it! All of our wooden pieces are handmade by us in our workshop to order.

We believe wood should not go to waste and that is why the majority of wood we use comes from our friends over at local saw mills who source trees which were felled during projects such as HS2 and which, without their intervention, would have been burned without being given a second chance to be something amazing. Instead, the wood is saved, sawn, dried (seasoned), and then we take it to our workshop and make it into something beautiful!

These oak mantels are custom made to order which allows us to personalise them to your requirements.

We are able to more heavily distress the beam should this be required, please just add a note in the personalisation box. The mantels come lightly distressed as standard.

We do not colour our beams as standard, but should you require any staining then please send us a message prior to ordering so we can ensure that we can provide the finish you are looking for.

Finish: Smooth with a handmade wax treatment (unless otherwise agreed)

Material: Solid oak

Fixing: We supply concealed fixings to mount this piece to your wall. These fixings are very strong and we will supply additional fixings depending on the length ordered. Legs are not included with this piece.

What you should know:

Natural wood is full of character and imperfections, so you should expect to see knots and light splitting within the wood. We will add resin to stabilise any imperfections which require it so that you can be confident in the piece.

Any splits in the mantel may change slightly as the piece adapts to the temperature of your home. We will stabilise any splits to ensure that the integrity of the piece is not compromised, but should you have any concerns during the adjustment period then please do not hesitate to contact us.

It is advisable to let the mantel sit in your house for a week or two before installing, especially if you intend to install it over an intense heat source, to allow it to get used to the temperature increase.

Each mantel is supplied with concealed fixings to mount it onto the wall. We do not pre-drill holes into the piece as we cannot predict where any existing wires or pipes may be at the mounting site. Therefore you should be aware that you will require a drill capable of drilling into oak.
